Data sources

Every company and officer record shown here comes from the UK register maintained by Companies House. Nothing on this site is independently researched, scored, or editorialised.

Where the data comes from

Records are read from the Companies House public data API (opens in a new tab). Some searches may instead be answered from a local copy of the register, seeded from the monthly Companies House data snapshot and kept up to date from the streaming service. Company profiles, officers, filing history, charges, people with significant control (including PSC statements), insolvency records, register locations, PSC exemptions, and the UK establishments of overseas companies are always read from the API.

The disqualified officer search reads the separate Companies House disqualification register. Companies House publishes no identifier joining a disqualification record to an officer appointment, so results are never matched to a company officer by name and no disqualification warning is added to a company page.

How current it is

Responses are cached to stay within the API's rate limits. Search results are held for about 10 minutes, company profiles for about an hour, and officers, filings, charges, PSC records, PSC statements, insolvency details, register locations, exemptions, and UK establishments for about half an hour. Disqualified officer searches are held for about 10 minutes and their records for about half an hour. A local copy of the register is refreshed on its own schedule.

The registers section records where a company's statutory registers are held, not who is entered in them. An exemption explains why the usual PSC information may not be held at Companies House and is not an adverse finding.

This means information here can lag the official register, and a change filed moments ago may not appear yet. Where a page shows a retrieval time, that is when this site last read the record — not when Companies House last changed it. For anything that matters, check the official record.

Corrections

We cannot change what the register says. If a company's details are wrong, they have to be corrected at Companies House by the company itself; the correction will then appear here after the next refresh.
